WHAT ARE THEY?

The Slat-mill is a NON-MOTORISED treadmill designed specifically for dogs. It uses free-turning slats (usually made of wood, plastic, or composite material) connected to a rotating belt that moves as the dog runs or walks. Unlike motorised treadmills, slat-mills rely entirely on the dog's own effort to control the speed, making them an excellent tool for exercise and conditioning. A carpet mill is a NON-MOTORISED treadmill for dogs, similar to a slat-mill but with some key differences. Instead of a rotating belt made of slats, a carpet mill uses a belt made of carpet or similar material. The dog powers the movement of the belt by running or walking, and the friction of the carpet creates resistance, making it a more challenging workout compared to a slat-mill.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

  • Controlled Exercise: Great for ensuring consistent and safe exercise regardless of weather or outdoor conditions.

  • Natural Movement: Encourages the dog's natural gait and pace since there’s no motor dictating the speed.

  • Fitness and Weight Management: Helps dogs burn energy, build muscle, and maintain a healthy weight.

  • Behavioural Benefits: A good outlet for high-energy dogs or those prone to boredom or destructive behaviours.

  • Rehabilitation: Can be used for controlled rehab exercises under supervision
